I am an Oil-Head! (A die-hard fan of Midnight Oil!) This volume, titled after their biggest international single, is a rare treasure! You may find used copies on Amazon Marketplace (as did I) but you may not have the good fortune to find it at a reasonable price. I got lucky in that regard! My copy, in very good condition, bears some printing errors on the front cover and first 2 inside pages. No worries! This book explores the evolution of this band. Their career burgeoned in the late seventies, and they performed at a Tsunami Aid concert in 2005, but the official life-span of the band is from 1982 to 2002. Two decades of revolutionary music and performances. They are often compared to The Who and U2, but never achieved the same popularity. This I because, for the Oils, it was all about the music. They treasured their privacy an ideals. They refused an appearance at the Grammy Awards because of a previously scheduled benefit concert. But the story isn't over! Rumors of a reunion abound. Also, the recent release of "Essential Oils" a new 2-CD compilation album, may spur a renewed interest in this extraordinary group.Product details
